Eric A. Elster MD, FACS is Professor and Chairman, Norman M. Rich Department of Surgery, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Elster is an active duty Captain in the US Navy and most recently deployed as Director of Surgical Services at the NATO Role 3 Hospital in Kandahar Afghanistan. He is a solid organ transplant surgeon and leader in translational research.
