Melea Atkins is a manager at Avalere. She supports the research and analysis efforts of Avalere’s Center for Payment and Delivery Innovation, engaging with health care stakeholders to identify the impacts of policy and market developments on business strategy. She has special expertise in the market impact of federal policies related to alternative payment models and delivery system reform. Prior to joining Avalere, Atkins worked as a legislative aide in the Office of Senator Elizabeth Warren where she developed and implemented health care and other domestic legislative proposals including in the areas of health care information technology, delivery system reform, and exchange implementation. In addition, she advised the Senator in her work on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee to pass bipartisan legislation reforming the meaningful use certification program. Atkins has a BA in public policy from Brown University.
