Eric B. Schoomaker, MD, PhD , Lieutenant General, US Army (Retired) is a Scholar-in-Residence at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Prior to his retirement from active military service in 2012 after a 32-year career as a military physician, he served as the 42nd Army Surgeon General and Commanding General, US Army Medical Command.
