Steven L. Strongwater, MD, leads all aspects of Atrius Health, a nonprofit accountable care organization of 6,800 employees serving 675,000 patients across eastern Massachusetts with coordinated medical care, home health and hospice. Before joining Atrius Health in August 2015, Dr. Strongwater was Geisinger Health System’s chief transformation officer and additionally served as chief medical executive for transition integration. He was previously CEO of Stony Brook University Medical Center and associate dean for clinical affairs at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Upstate Medical Center and a research fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Michigan.
